At Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Haldwani, we follow the examination and assessment guidelines prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Our evaluation system is designed to promote academic excellence, consistent progress, and holistic development of every learner.

🔹 Examination Structure

We conduct examinations and assessments across all grades in accordance with the CBSE framework:

Pre-Primary to Class V

• Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

• Focus on conceptual understanding, activity-based learning, and regular feedback

Class VI to VIII

• Two Term Assessments (Mid-Term & Final)

• Periodic Tests, Subject Enrichment Activities, and Notebook Submission as per CBSE format

Class IX & X

• Internal Assessment (20 Marks):

  • Periodic Tests, Portfolio, Subject Enrichment Activities

• Final CBSE Board Examination (80 Marks) – Class X only

• Strict adherence to CBSE-prescribed syllabus, pattern, and guidelines

Class XI & XII

• Unit Tests, Mid-Term, and Pre-Board Exams

• Class XII appears for Board Examination as per CBSE schedule

• Project work and practicals as per CBSE subject guidelines

📅 Half-Yearly & Annual Exams

Exams are conducted as per the academic calendar:

• Half-Yearly Exams – September

• Annual Exams / Pre-Boards – February/March

• Board Exams (Class X & XII) – As per CBSE notification (March–April)

Datesheets and syllabus are shared in advance via school notice board, website, and parent communication channels.

📌 Examination Rules & Guidelines

All students must adhere to the following exam day rules:

✅ Bring admit card (for Classes X & XII) and school ID
✅ Use only blue or black ballpoint pens
✅ Transparent pouch for stationery
✅ No mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators (unless permitted)
✅ Maintain silence and discipline inside the examination hall
✅ Reach 30 minutes before reporting time

Any attempt to use unfair means may lead to disqualification and disciplinary action as per CBSE rules.

📍 Attendance Requirement

As per CBSE regulations, 75% attendance is mandatory to appear for the final/board examinations.
Shortfalls may be condoned only in genuine cases (medical, sports, or other CBSE-recognized reasons) with proper documentation.
